Brownsville, TX — Friday, May 9, 2025 — The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) proudly announces that President & CEO Cori Peña has been named a 2025 Moms & Industry honoree by RGV LEAD. This distinguished recognition celebrates women leading innovation in their industries while raising and inspiring the next generation.

Cori Peña will be recognized alongside other accomplished honorees at a special luncheon on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton in McAllen. Timed shortly after Mother’s Day, the event will honor women who are making a lasting impact across the Rio Grande Valley and help raise funds for student scholarships and innovative educational programs.

As President and CEO of BCIC, Peña has championed transformative projects that expand economic opportunity and improve quality of life in Brownsville and the surrounding region. Over the past decade, her service at BCIC has driven initiatives ranging from public parks to museums, all grounded in her deep commitment to the community she serves.

RGV LEAD is a nonprofit organization focused on closing the gap between education and industry across the Rio Grande Valley. Through strategic partnerships with local school districts, colleges, and businesses, RGV LEAD equips students with the skills, experience, and credentials needed to succeed in today’s workforce.
